Matthew Warner, over at his blog Fallible Blogma, is having a poll to determine who is the best Catholic speaker of 2009. Of course, it’s no contest that Peter Kreeft and Christopher West are the best. But for some reason they are running behind in the race.
If you don’t know who Peter Kreeft is, no worries. He is a philosopher that has an extensive library of free audio that deals with just about everything under the sun. He is very easy to listen to, has a great way of arguing his points, and best of all – he is a surfer. There is really nothing about the guy that just isn’t cool. Two of my favorite talks by him have to do with the same subject: the problem of evil. In his talk on making sense of suffering and his discourse on C.S. Lewis’ book The Problem of Pain, Kreeft does an amazing job of giving meaning behind the suffering we face in this world.
Anyway, go and vote. You can pick up to 10 candidates, and there are a lot to choose from! But if you don’t choose either Peter Kreeft or Christopher West I’ll be very disappointed in you – and you don’t want that, do you?
