Makeuseof.com has a great article that displays some of the latest and greatest tutorials about WordPress. If you don’t know what WordPress is, it is basically only the best blogging platform out on the Interwebs. If you are a blogger and are not using a self-hosted WordPress blog, you are seriously missing out. There is so much packed into this absolutely free piece of blogging software, it is crazy!
Anyway, my love for WordPress aside, there is a relatively new site out there called WordPress.tv. Now, rather than having to rely on sifting through a plethora of documentation, you can watch recorded video tutorials from the developers and elite users of WordPress. It’s a great way to get started, quickly!

November 1, 2009 at 9:22 amDean, you're right about self-hosted WordPress. If I had to do it over again, I would have used a premium theme, with an active support forum, right from the beginning. This is invaluable when WP releases a new version. The free themes may or may not keep up with the changes. Thanks!

November 1, 2009 at 5:07 pmThat's a GREAT point. There have been numerous times in which I updated my version of WordPress and it broke the theme that I was using. This is true even if you have one that's been customized for you by a pro. But premium WP themes typically have active support so you don't have to worry about all that. Wow, good point!
