Although the media has been alluding to the idea that the economy is turning upward, the continual rise of unemployment seems to paint a different picture. However, this post is not a political one. This article is a call for help, and you are the only person that can answer that call. Are you sick of me telling you that you need to use your God-given talents to save the Church? Well, guess what… I am sick of saying it! But if you are tired of my ideas on how to tithe your time, what if I were to ask you to use your talents to save your neighbor’s life?
Some of you may have heard about the flooding in the Philippines from typhoon Ondoy. My friend Tim Troutman (author of the blog Army of Martyrs) has a Catholic charity called Philippine Aid Society that has set up a fund for the flood victims. If you can spare a few bucks, donations are badly needed. The Philippines is the only Catholic nation in Asia and is one of the poorest countries in the world. This storm has devastated hundreds of thousands of people and left nearly 300 dead.
Donations are tax deductible and 100% of the donation will go to provide basic needs for the flood victims like food and clothing. You can donate online here: Ondoy Relief Fund. They still need your help, and whatever you can give is greatly appreciated. If you can’t give, please pray or share this post with your friends.
