Episode #17: Introduction to Google Wave

Tags: , , , , , ,

As I mention in the video, I am not a guru of the technical side of Google Wave. However, I do believe that the concept of Google Wave itself is something that everyone needs to grasp. Why? Because it is truly going to revolutionize the way that we communicate on the internet.

Google Wave is not email, it is a whole new mode of communication that allows individuals and groups to collaborate around one conversation and with dynamic content. I assure you that, although it may seem mysterious and a waste of time, as more and more people catch on to it you will see how it solves many of the problems that are inherent in email. Book Review: Escape from Cubicle Nation

Wow, I had a few paragraphs written about this book already and the – BOOM! – my browser crashed and I lost everything.  Maybe that was a sign from God that my original review was pretty crappy.  Well, first off I want to say that I finished this book about a month ago.  Usually I don’t wait that long to do a book review, but there were a lot of suggestions and tips from the author that I wanted to verify actually worked or at least had some value.  Read the full story

Video runtime: 4 1/2 minutes.

Although the media has been alluding to the idea that the economy is turning upward, the continual rise of unemployment seems to paint a different picture.  However, this post is not a political one.  This article is a call for help, and you are the only person that can answer that call.  Are you sick of me telling you that you need to use your God-given talents to save the Church?  Well, guess what… I am sick of saying it!  But if you are tired of my ideas on how to tithe your time, what if I were to ask you to use your talents to save your neighbor’s life?

If it were,  just doing what you are passionate about in the most efficient way possible would bring complete happiness and there would be no need for religion or philosophy at all. To me, there had to be something lacking in secular methods of productivity. Read the full story

You Are Not a Theologian, and That’s Okay!

One of the things that bothers me so much about all of us Catholics is our false view of how we are to become saintly.  The majority of practicing Catholics seem to spend most of their time trying to be theologians and philosophers, rather than being who they were naturally created to be.  Well, I have news for all of my brethren and sistren: the saints were saints because they did what God created them to do, not because they were theologians.

Make a Beautiful Church Website on the Cheap

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

It amazes me how an institution like the Catholic Church, which dominated art in the west for over 1500 years, seems to be content with websites that look as though they were created for a third grade science project.  I apologize for any hurt feelings, but it’s the truth.  That being the case, I have taken the liberty of giving some ideas on how to remedy the situation in the most cost-effective way possible.  Get ready for the tools to help your parish have an extreme website makeover.
