Episode #14: Productive Catholics Use Netvibes

Posted on 03 December 2009

iGoogle, MyCatholic, and a couple of other homepage sites offer a one-stop shop for keeping track of your web presence and interests. But I have yet to find one that comes close to what Netvibes has to offer. In this video I explain why Netvibes is different than iGoogle, and – in my humble opinion – better at keeping you up-to-date with information that is important to you. Better organization, the ability to quickly scan information, and other perks of the web app offer a great reason to switch from the other homepage sites to Netvibes.

The link mentioned in the post about The Call of the Entrepreneur is a super easy way to get something free for doing something that you should be doing anyway.  As of writing this, there are no, zero, zip, winners of the free DVD – and that’s awful.  Get out there, make a blog around what you love, and you get a free DVD.

Netvibes rocks! And now with Wasabi is even better! : )

Totally Dawn! I ended up messing around with Wasabi last night a little more, and it is really really awesome. I love their new smart reader, great way to see what's on your favorite blogs. I need to make a public page though. I've been hesitant to do that, but I think it'd be a neat way to share.

The near real-time updates are so cool. Thanks for the comment fellow Netvibes lover!

Dean, I love the video idea. It would be so much easier to do that sometimes then write. It does take a lot of time and will be looking forward to seeing what other people do to organize their blogging life. I have loved iGoogle for quite some time, and my online life revolves around it. I'm following a lot more blogs then in the past and I find that it is getting a bit unwieldy. Can you tell me what Wasabi is and how it integrates with Netvibes? Also, thanks so much for adding my blog to your blogroll. I would love to hear any constructive comments you may have on it. God Bless

Yeah, I like writing, but it honestly takes too long. Not that I don't have the patience to write, but I'd rather put more out content to people than deliver a written product every other day. Plus, the interview aspect it too hard to pass up. There are a lot of great Catholic bloggers out there (including you), that I would love to meet and hear their stories, tips, and anything else that they would want to share.

Re: Wasabi – Wasabi is the new beta version of Netvibes. It's my understanding that it's only available to previous Netvibes users, but it should be fully released soon. It looks like it's going to be the premiere web-based feed reader.

Totally, I love your blog and I'll shoot you an email later in the week with my thoughts!

    God bless!!

I’ve now been using the Netvibes Wasabi version for about 6 weeks and like it a lot. I have a lot of blogs I’m following and it really helps keep them organized. Thanks for passing it along.

Woohoo! Yeah, Netvibes is great isn’t it? It makes it so easy to keep track of content. Do you just use it for reading blogs, or do you use it for social media and such as well?
