Ask the Readers: What Are the Top 5 Catholic Web Apps?

what is the best catholic app out there?

Hey guys!  I love the web (if you haven’t noticed), and it’s only getting better and better every day.  But I can’t keep track of everything.  That’s why I need your help to find out which Catholic web applications out there are the best of the best.  I have already listed a few in the side bar of my blog (i.e. flockNote, 4Marks, CatholicNewsLive etc.), but I am sure that there are many more out there that are just dying to be found.

what is the best catholic app out there?

There are only a few stipulations:  The web app needs to be Catholic, it has to be an actual web application (i.e. a social network, web desktop, not a blog), and it has to be your favorite.  Other than that, it’s fair game.

To cast your vote, all you have to do is enter your favorite Catholic app in the comment section of this post.  All the votes will be tallied up in the near future, and the top 5 winners will be announced.  So if you have a favorite Catholic web app, help get it promoted here!

Whoa, I've never seen Catholic Culture's Site Review site before. Thanks for that Suzanne!

  2. Thanks for the shout-out!

I also like Catholic Blog Search / MyCatholic:
    http://www.catholicblogs.com/

They both serve their purposes pretty well.

Yeah, CatholicCulture.com is formerly Petersnet.Net. They give excellent reviews of Catholic websites — both in terms of fideity, usability and resources. CatholicQandA.com actually has a great review from them!

    My votes are:

    CatholicCulture.com Site Review
    SCBorromeo.org Cateshism Search
    NewAdvent.org Church Father's Collection
    DecentFilms.com Movie Reviews
    USCCB.org Online New American Bible

SQPN.com has a great collection of Catholic Podcasts, as well.

Phatmass.com also has a great message board for Catholic Religious and Discerning Religious. They also have a great collection of VERIFIED Church scholars who are regularly available to ask questions from on the message boards.

  5. Dean Soto says:

Haha, no problem! I had a feeling that MyCatholic would be one that people liked. Haven't seen it used too much anymore though.

  6. Dean Soto says:

Oooh, didn't know that. Yeah, I'm glad CatholicCulture was mentioned. The owner of CatholicQandA.com is a stud. He had a good apologetics team on that site too! =P

Love the Summa on New Advent.

SQPN is a good network to find some good Catholics. Just joined up recently. Phatmass has grown A LOT. I am pretty active there now. I love the philosophical debates there, even though I am a lightweight compared to a lot of people out there.
